In brief

We are recruiting:

  • An Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) Specialist
  • At least 3 years of AIS experience
  • Spanish-speaking (at least C1)
  • Living in Central or South America
  • Freelancer or remote employee
  • Fully remote: work from home or at a co-working space
  • Full-time or part-time
Candidates with AIS experience but no AIM experience are invited to apply anyway: Nilacandi will provide AIM training. More senior candidates are invited to contact us to discuss a possible collaboration.

Main tasks

Depending on seniority level, the following tasks may apply early or later on in the position:

  • Maintain the contents of our AIM Portal (electronic library of AIPs, datasets, and other documents), mainly for the Americas.
  • Provide AIS/AIM expertise on customer projects: advise customers, analyse existing aeronautical data, help migrate data, propose coding guidelines, input data on behalf of customers.
  • Provide AIS/AIM expertise on internal projects: participate with colleagues in high-level design of software functionality to meet user requirements, SARPs and regulations, contribute with your domain expertise.
  • Teach AIM topics to customers.
  • Test AIM software, write user acceptance test scenarios.
  • Write task-oriented user documentation from a domain expert perspective.
  • Keep up-to-date with the evolution of the aeronautical information domain.
  • Become an expert in AIXM, eAIP, digital NOTAM, electronic Charts and other AIM technologies.
  • Understand other aviation domains closely related to AIM, such as MET, FPL, PANS-OPS, ATC.
  • Assist management in pre-sales activities: meeting customers, preparing tenders
  • Represent the company at conferences and other events worldwide (at least 1 per year, possibly more).
  • Produce social media content of interest to the AIM community.

Qualifications

  • Must have a degree from an aviation school, preferably with a specialisation in AIS, or equivalent by experience.
  • Must have at least 3 years of professional experience in an AIS office or similar
  • Must be at ease with computers and office software (Web, presentation, spreadsheet, document edition, email)
  • Professional presentation
  • English level: see our general Jobs page.
  • Spanish level: at least C1 (CEFR scale) with DELE C1 certificate, or higher studies in Spanish, if not your mother tongue.
  • Working knowledge of French language is an advantage.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Nilacandi will not sponsor a work permit: please apply only if you have the right to work (and already live) in a Central/South American country.
  • Able and willing to travel abroad

Benefits

Beside general benefits common to all employees, we offer a salary of 800€ to 1600€ per month for an employee, depending on experience and local conditions. For a freelancer, the rate shall be negotiated based on local conditions.
